Remembering Tommy John (1943-2026)

Yeeeeears ago, when we launched The Hall of Very Good, we talked to Tommy John at length about him being our first inductee. He was thrilled. He'd check in randomly throughout those early years and kept in touch as we entered the podcast space.

TJ was a great dude.

To honor his passing, here's the conversation we had with the should-be Hall of Famer back in 2017. He talked to us about his chances at getting into Cooperstown, his favorite baseball movies, the injury that nearly ended his career, his relationship with the late-Frank Jobe (and why the legendary doctor is one of the three most influential men in baseball history) and playing alongside Glenn Burke.
